Mel Tucker, former Colorado’s former coach, has agreed to lead Michigan state’s football program. He had spent 2019 as Colorado’s head coach; he went 5-7 with the Buffaloes.
Meanwhile, before Mel Tucker took the job as Colorado’s head coach, he had worked for three seasons as a defensive coordinator in Georgia. His Bulldogs defense ensured the second-fewest yards in the second in each of his finals in two seasons.
Also, part of his professional career’s portfolio is ten years he spent coaching in the NFL, which include the short time he coached Jags as an interim coach. Mel Tucker has numerous years of experience in the game. As a native of Ohio, he played for Wisconsin as well as a graduate assistant at MSU from 1997-1998 under Nick Saban. He also worked as an assistant at Ohio State from 2001-2004.
Also, from 2001 to 2003, Tucker worked with Mark Dantonio at Ohio State University. In 10 years in the NFL, he coached Cleveland Browns, Chicago Bears, and the Jacksonville Jaguars.
