Lil Yachty took to Instagram to express his disgust to VMAS after was not in the list of the nominees for the 2020 MTV Video Music Awards.

The MTV nominations for the upcoming awards show was aired on Thursday (July 31, 2020), the main award show is set to air on August 30, 2020.

Meanwhile, Lil Boat’s “Oprah’s Bank Account” visual, which has been highly rated as one of the best videos of the year so far, didn’t secure approval in any categories. It has gotten over 17 million views with props by Oprah Winfrey herself.

Lil Yachty, while on Instagram Live, said, “I will be doing some shit. Putting my all in some shit,” He went on to say, “People be trying to shit on that and try to discredit some of the things that I’ve done. Or discredit some of the shit I have done did. Try to downplay it or like, try to make it seem as if that shit ain’t nothin’.”

“Or whatever the case may be. I don’t fuck with that. Nah, that shit is wack, bro. I don’t know, that’s all I gotta say. That shit is wack. VMAs are dumb wack for that shit. Nominations, all that shit is corny. Niggas don’t be giving me any fuckin’ respect. I don’t fuck with that. But whatever.”

The artists nominated in the Best Hip-Hop category include DaBaby (“Bop”), Future and Drake (“Life Is Good”), Eminem and Juice Wrld (“Godzilla”), Roddy Ricch (“The Box”), Megan Thee Stallion (“Savage”) and Travis Scott (“Highest In The Room”)
